Thank You! 2023

As the year draws to a close, I find myself feeling incredibly fortunate for the lessons I have learned and the friends I have met. Thus, in an effort to preserve these experiences, I would like to reflect on my top-five most memorable moments of 2023:

  1. Ice-bathing in Derwent Water’s February chill with Elsa and friends.

  2. Bikepacking the Lôn Cambria with Bruin in the least Welsh weather possible: unrelenting sunshine.

  3. Wild Camping alone in a sand dune on Berneray, Outer Hebrides.

  4. Listening to - the legend that is - Peter MacAskill sing Morag of Dunvegan in Dunvegan, Isle of Skye.

  5. Being asked to recite one of my poems in the elevator of my university by a lady I had never met; and responding with by necessity

It is often too easy to become complacent with a sub-satisfactory existence. And so, I write this here, as a reminder for myself: to continue seeking such experiences as these, experiences that inspire me and cultivate positive changes within me. Why? Because these are the moments that make it all worthwhile.

I wish you all the very best in 2024. With love,

J x
